You want to set your Z height in the program slightly higher than the actual part height, and zero the Z axis slightly above the highest point on the part.

I know mach3 can read the G code from an stl file so what I was asking would be possible that opens up a lot of opportunity's... Like let's say create a file in cut 3D save it as stl then send to mach3 and cut it on another cnc machine so my Shark is free for other work and the resizing is kewl as well I am sure the fine details would be lost if I upsized it two much ..Thank you Martin :ugeek:
