Finally setup, flattened table, rigged and ready!

Post by mdcavanaugh »

After several weeks of work, I have turned my HD Shark into a SHD Shark "Super Heavy Duty." The blue table is supported by 1/4" thick aluminum plate and leveled independently from the plastic (not level) base of the Shark. I have placed the entire Shark on a TMC Optically Flat Vibration Control Platform. I put the 890 Porter Cable router in there with the precision collets sold separately. I modified the router controls with the Super PID controller that is just simply bada$$. I have the dust control plumbed and perfect, cables hanging from retracting reels, UPS backup and surge protection, a 3D mouse to spin models on the laptop and now I'm ready to graduate from the "Setting up the Shark" forum to "Showing off your projects" forum.

Nice job.
Where did you get those self retracting wheels?
I have been trying to get them for ages.

I had those spring returns laying around from another project and I can't remember the maker but McMasterCarr has them.

Ouch my bank balance, I needed 10 of them :o
Methinks I will stay with the long springs I used before.

It's a good day when you learn something new :D
I have never heard of that table before, sounds very interesting but expensive.
Must do some research on that.
