Water-Cooled Spindle Setup Question

Post by sharkcutup »

First time user - First time setup! (Retirement activity -- avoiding becoming a "couch potato"!) ;)

CNC Shark HD3 Extended bed with Water-Cooled Spindle

First Question: Is there anyone out there that is using the Water-Cooled Spindle with their CNC Shark? Where did you plug the water-cooled spindle power inverter power cord into? A wall outlet? A power strip? Or the back of the Control Panel Box?

Second Question: How is the pump for the water-cooled spindle activated other than just leaving it plugged in and running all the time?

Any Help here would be very much appreciated!

Great to hear you are excited to use your Shark.

Answer to question 1: We recommend plugging your inverter into a power strip and plugging the strip into a wall outlet.

Answer to question 2: The water pump for the spindle does not have a switch, it is activated once plugged into the wall.

Thanks,

We have a shark with a 611 router. We added a power strip and an hour meter to that strip and plugged the router into that strip.
Router brushes do not last 200 hours of run time.

We are setting up a water cooled spindle using MACH3 on a different machine. Our controller has an 115 volt output for the pump. I suspect it's on all the time.
Going to add a chiller and replace the simple pump. We run for long hours (12) at a time and are located in New Mexico.

I'm not sure where to put the hour meter in this setup, spindle power or chiller power.
Also we're looking to add a UPS. Uninterruptible Power Supply and again not sure where this goes in the system.
