Y Axis Set Screw

Post by Kabbie »

Looks like my Y-axis set screw came loose on HD4. Anything I should know or precautions I should take before I re-tighten it? I read another post about taking the deck off and creating an access hole, but not ready to go to that extreme.

If your couplers have the small set screws, consider replacing the set screws with cap screws of the same thread size.

The cap screws will use a larger wrench and can be tightened a bit better.

Also, you can file a flat on your lead screw if it does not already have one.

I replaced the motor mounting nuts with T-nuts to allow the axis to be pulled out easily without removing a table top section.
