Bosch router motor

Post by Jarrahman »

Hi All

I have had a Shark Pro for about 6 months. It's been a huge learning curve but I am very happy with it.
During the week I was finishing a project when the Bosch router that came with it failed.

It suddenly started to make a loud screeching noise. I shut it down thinking that the bushes had worn down or failed. They both were in good order. What had happened was that the bottom bearing had seized and was packed with fine dust. I wondered why the chuck and bit were getting so hot. Should have recognised it as a warning I guess.

I suggest that it must be a design fault and wondered if anyone else has experienced the same problem?

Does the Shark Pro come with a Bosch Router in the country you live in?

Errol,

In the US the Shark comes stock with a Bosch mount but you buy the router separately I bought mine over a year ago and use it often. I haven't had any real problems with mine to-date but I just bought a Dewalt DWS611 that I'm going to make a mount for and try only because so many have lauded it on this forum.
