Hi - that kind of error usually indicates some sort of installation or permissions problem with any application. If you are still experiencing this -

I'd uninstall the Shark stuff. Reboot (mostly for the heck of it). Now, reinstall the Shark Basic Control Panel - but this time, right click on the .exe file, and select Run as Administrator.

After installation, reboot (mostly for the heck of it). Then start the basic panel. Jog the gantry. If all of that is successful, then try loading your first test file (.tap) and see if it goes successfully.

After installing in this manner, some folks using Win 7 have also had to run the Basic Panel as an administrator. From your Program group, navigate to the CNC shark folder, the right click on the Basic Panel and select Run as Administrator.

I'm assuming you've also successfully ran the Firmware Update - although not running it wouldn't cause this error (I think).

As you'll see from many posts, folks generally have the most initial and long term success by going through the videos on this forum, as well as the tutorials and videos for the Vectric software. These are available on the installation disk, as well as on the Vectric web site. They don't take a lot of time and have a huge payoff.
