problem with shark pro

Post by cwfreitas »

I have a problem with the shark pro. The threaded spindle keeps separated from the Z motor. I use loc tight and tighten it up but in the middle of a carve with a new bit and a new router motor it keeps happening. Any suggestions..

Is there a way you can drill into the side of it and tap it for a set screw?

Do you mean the lead screw is coming out of the motor end?
You need to make sure you put the setscrew on the flat part of the shaft.
if you just screw it down on the round part of the shaft you will not have enough hold there.
