bosch colt mount does not fit

Post by agjones »

Hi Folks,

Just got my preowned pro plus, setting it up now.

Everything looks great.

Trying to mount the Bosch Colt (GKF125CE)... fits through the clamp, just. It does NOT fit through the mount so I can't get to the spindle lock.

Yeah, I could modify it...but first I'd like to know if there are different diameters on the motor housing for the Colt or if I should just start heating this housing up and melt it through the mount?! ;-)

BTW: from searching/reading other posts I couldn't find an answer and yep, I've loosened the screws to the side of the mount opening in addition to the clamp screw.

Thx

Found the answer...extra .25hp = extra mm in diameter.

Lame.

The 1/4″ router is bundled with a PR101 fixed-base housing which can accommodate bits up to 1-5/16″ wide. Bosch has confirmed that the previous generation Bosch Colt router bases will NOT work with the new GKF125CE router. An optional plunge base will be available in 2018.

Cool! Thanks for letting us know...that one might hit a bunch, it being such a small difference.

Cheers!
