Horiz router mount for dovetails

Post by FixitMike »

the past, there have been a number of questions about how to cut dovetails in the end of a board. Here's my solution:

The attached file is for parts for a Shark Pro Plus mount for a DeWalt palm router that holds the router in a horizontal position underneath the router carriage. Orient the router so the bit is underneath the gantry for the least deflection. Add a platform to hold a board off of the table, and you can cut dovetails into the end of the board.

Use a drilling toolpath to cut the dovetails. The movement is what you need, even though the result will be nothing like the preview.
