Leftover Walnut
I never get tired of carving this Celtic Cross. It was my very first 3d design. Originally I was going to cut out the cross, but when I started to profile it I noticed how nice the surrounding wood was and how the cross was set off by the profile and decided to just run the profile to a shallow depth with a down cut bit. Glad I did.

Very nice, Bill. I really love walnut. It is difficult to find native walnut in MA anywhere around me. Great job and good choice to keep the surrounding material.

I agree, love Walnut. Just got back from my local sawmill last week with 250 BF of locally grown Walnut. Can't wait to put it to use.
Being retired is hard work. Spending way too much time in the shop these days. (And loving it).

That's a clean looking Cross Bill. I can see why you kept the whole board. Love it. Basecircle
