Router mount on HD4

Post by GWDawg1 »

I am attempting do mount a Bosch 1617 on my new Shark HD4. I understand the fit must be very tight due to tolerances. I can’t get the router all the way through the mount. I don’t want to apply too much downward pressure on the gantry. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem!
Just make the tightening screws are loose and then put some sort of wedge in the mount to pry it open enough to allow the router to slide in.
I used 2 wood shims and slid them together to pry the slot open till the router would slide in.
I used a clamp to bring the two shims to slide together to widen the slots.

Thank you, I’ll try that. Just don’t want to damage my new toy.
