Re: help Controller lost its programing?

When I was introduced to CNC Shark 5 years ago I had a couple of hiccups and crashed. Any machinists will tell you "If you haven't crashed a CNC then you have not run one very long"! I would check the program and load it then scroll down checking the "-Z". Hang in and keep carving.

Re: Program did not complete project.

Thanks, I kind of thought that but figured the program was smart enough to say "Not Enough Memory" Or Too Large; something! I will replace the card.

Re: Cleaning and greasing

I have had my Shark HD for over 4 years and use Silicone spray, I have used the DuPont and can not see a lot of difference in brands. I would NOT use oil or grease as this will really build up a gooey mess, in a short time. I use Vacuum and forced air to clean dust, I don't let it build up. Silicone...

Program did not complete project.

Is it possible to run out of program memory in the pod controller? I got raised letters here at a z-.06 one pass with a .0625 ball. The program runs from bottom to top but stops, returns to 0 and does not turn off router, before clearing the top line. PreView looks good! Programed with V-Carve 8

Re: z axis alignment

I have the Shark HD and I use .75 MDF as a base on top of the aluminum table top. I use a .75 center cut router bit and program to shave off .02 first running a raster of 0.0 then 45 deg, and final pass at 90. These are run all at the same Z and most of the tooling marks are gone. I then put grid li...

That penny looks great. Did you model it yourself?

Re: Which router and bits to start??

As far as the router is concerned, any of the routers that fit the Shark are good ones. I have 2 Porter Cable routers, one for the Shark and one for my router table. As far as bits go! E-Bay and Amazon are good places to look, you get what you pay for. I prefer American, Swiss or German as the carbi...

Re: Base table off on the "x" axis

I use .75" MDF as a base attached the top of the CNC's bed. I cut a 4x8 sheet of MDF into 24 inch squares; (about 3 or 4 years worth in 1 sheet) Then I program 3 pockets with a cut depth of .02 All three are at the SAME cutting depth. First pocket is a Raster .0. Then a Raster at 45.0 degrees an fin...

Re: Warp and Virtual Z and Tiling

The 2 1/2 years I have using the Shark Pro Plus I have found the best way to ensure the bed is flat, I attach .75" MDF 24"x24", to the bed using machine screws with a nut I made to fit in the T-slots with the head of the screws below the surface .2" then I use a 1 inch router bit I program to POCKET...

Re: Crazy Heart?

I made a little different version of the Crazy Heart. I used the sun and moon and putting together one that has a rabbit on bottom with an eagle flying above.
