Re: Priceing a product

Most business' who are in it full time charge by the hour. It's kind of hard to do that with the Shark in my opinion because it cuts much slower than machines used by others. It took trial and error over time to see what people would pay. You also have to consider material costs, mistakes, electrici...

Re: Router flexing off perpendicular when using dust hood

I always found that if you left a little gap between bristles and work surface, it would deflect the router and it would allow better suction for dust control.

Re: Selling Shark Pro with entire shop LOWERED PRICE.

milo30- That is a very good price for your shop. That being said, I already have a shop but would be interested in the Shark if you are willing to seperate it from the other items. If the price is really good, I would drive from TN to pick it up. Is that a consideration? Right now, I have it listed ...

Re: Selling Shark Pro with entire shop LOWERED PRICE.

With all of that stuff you could make some really good fishing lures. Especially if the 4th axis ever comes out. Best of luck in your endeavors. I had thought about that but the key word there is IF . It seems that they have been busier on creating new machines to sell where there would be more pro...

Re: noob

The most common bits used are an end mill .25", a 90 degree .5" or .25" and a 60 degree .25" vbit for me. Those do 90 percent of everything that I do. I also have smaller end mills for when needed for tight areas. Also for planing the table or large surfaces I use a bit similar to this https://www.m...

Re: It's all about the base

I only made one base and that was because it was just a pain for me, trying to figure out how and where to cut everything so that it was tucked inside and hidden from view. I know it was stupid but something about it just kept throwing me off and after measuring and creating the file, I accidentally...

Re: 60th Anniversary Model

Look for a local company for bits. It makes it convenient when you need that bit right now and don't have time to wait plus the selection is very limited at lowes and HD. I found one about 15 minutes from me that sells router bits and saw blades. They carry mainly whiteside and I can buy 2 for what ...

Re: Bit selection for small font wood engravving

I'd recommend that you don't move too far ahead in trying to buy bits. Usually it comes with a .5" 90 deg. Once you start using the machine you will learn if a bit doesn't perform well and you need to buy another. It is very easy to start buying bits and find that you never used them.
