Re: fine line automation FLA 300

I'm confused. I thought that this part of the forum was for system comparisons. People discuss Shopbot and Sears CNC's, etc. That is all I was trying to do. Fine Line Automation has a few CNC's which I wanted a comparison on. If you want to limit discussion about competitors and their products (whic...

fine line automation FLA 300

Does anyone know anything about Fine Line Automation and their FLA 300? Good, bad, ugly?

Thanks,

Re: half blind joint

Bill,

How did you make the joint? Was that a file from http://flexiblestream.org/Digital-Wood-Joints-001.php?

Re: Training Class

Count me in...I'd fly anywhere in the 50 states for a weekend class.

Somebody who is an old pro ought to take advantage of these requests, team up with a Vetric pro and do seminars for a price. I'd pay $200 for a weekend class. You get 30 people and you've made yourself a nice little profit.

Re: shark cage

I feel like a dummy...I think I answered my own question by going to Plans Now and researching. I came up with this possibility. What do you think of this as the structure for the bottom of the shark tank? It would need modification in length and depth.

shark cage

I am somewhat new to woodworking. I've done some nice projects from Plans Now (bookshelves, mission style table, etc). I do real well at following plans but don't have enough familiarity with woodworking to create a shark cage from scratch (without plans). I could probably do it but it would be easi...

Re: Project File Sharing

I really like the dragon design. The only place I have found that offers this design is through http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/vgallery/aspire/aspire_gallery2.htm. But I think it is only offered to owners of Aspire. Is there any other way of being able to use this file? Or a similar one? Mazzy

Re: Another inlay

Thanks for the very uplifting response. I've seen the Aspire tutorial videos and they all make sense. Just a matter of setting up the shark and playing with it.

Thanks,

Re: Another inlay

Great job. I have not purchased my Shark yet but will do so within a month or so. Does it take Aspire software to do the inlays or will VCarve do it? Is it hard to do...long learning curve?

Re: Couple newby questions

Thanks for the thorough reply roger. I agree that I should start with VCarve Pro and, once I'm done with my training wheels move up to Aspire. Using my main office and home computer which has a very large screen also make sense. Just use a wireless feature and connect up with a low cost laptop which...
