Thanks for the update Jim. It's always nice to hear how things turn out.

Re: x, y, z axis and virtual setup

Terry,
I would first check Clearance( Z1 ) and see if it's sending your Z way too high.

Re: Power Box died mid-job

G,
Check where the power cord is plugged into the box. There should be a tiny holder for a fuse there...with a spare fuse.

Some of the information overlaps the other tutorial. Both are good sources.

Jim, It sounds like you're describing level clipping. Go to this site: https://www.instagram.com/designandmakeit/ Then scroll down to this window: level clipping.JPG You will find an excellent tutorial on level clipping. Don't just watch it. Re: z Axis Problem

Another thought... You might be bumping the top of your Z travel, and losing steps. This would cause the bit to plunge too deep on cuts. Did you make any changes that would cause the bit to go higher than planned? Check your safe z setting, fixture thickness, tool length, router/spindle slipping in ...

Re: Z axis cut depth

When you close out VCarve, a message comes on the screen asking if you want to save your work, if you haven't already done so.
Select, Yes.
Remember, you're saving two files...the crv, and the tap.
Be sure to select a place to save your crv where you can find it again.
