Re: Reg Key Expired

Update to prior post - did get an email with link to latest version of control panel. I have downloaded it, successfully installed it but had to depart for the holidays before I could see if the registration process works. Thanks to NWA but wish the whole process was smoother and less cumbersome. Ha...

Re: Reg Key Expired

Update to my post above. No email from NWA as was promised by their software. (3 days ago multiple times). Went to their website and found the only way to contact them is via an email form on their contact page. Seems strange to have a company that does not list a phone number on their web page or a...

Re: Reg Key Expired

I just fell victim to the reg key expired trap on a Friday afternoon. Looked like an automated registration process but at the end No automated registration just a box that says look for email. No email after 6 hours so likely down for the weekend. If they can check that it is expired why don't they...

Re: Routing a channel and drillin in that channel

The two post processors provided by next wave have precision of .1 and .01 inches. You should not necessarily expect precision higher than that, i.e. You are within that tolerance. Depending upon the tool path you can get better than that with the standard PP. You can modify the PP for better precis...

Re: Help with flipping a carving

Looking at the 3D rendering it looks like your design is either not centered in the board or is not symmetrical. The reason I say this is that the waste on the right hand side stops part way up the handle while the waste on the left side goes to the top. If you design is not centered and symmetrical...

Re: Pocket paths problems

I made a simple bowtie like file that was made of all straight lines. I then machined it on an HD MAKO Shark using 3 different post processors using the offset strategy. The first that I used was CNCShark-USB 3D Contour. The feed rate was set at 100 inches per minute. I used a 20% step over for thes...

Re: Pocket paths problems

The Shark post processor has a tolerance/precision variable in it. I previously posted my issue here and a fix but cannot find the post at this time. The solution was to change the precision variable in the post processor and save as a new file name. It looks to me like you are using the PP meant fo...

Re: Plaque for my sister's addtion

Karen,

Good thought - probably will cut down on some of the sanding to the flat areas where I was mainly getting rid of some small bleeds.

Re: Plaque for my sister's addtion

For the flat surfaces a quick pass with a random orbital sander with 220 grit was all I had to do. For the carving there were a few places where I used a Dremel tool with the 3M sanding brush-like head to take out a few ridges that most likely were caused by a slightly too large of a stepover. Total...
