I would think the longer reach might flex the bed if you put too much hold down pressure. To me it looks like you'd loose quite a bit of work space also.

Thanks for the info. I've never had a dust collection system on my Shark HD and the dust and wood chips are so invasive I've gotten tired of all the vacuuming I have to do every time I use it. This, I think will do the trick.

I think a few people have had some issues with some of the upgrades with the controller software. I think version i gave a few people some trouble. I'm glad you figured out how to fix your problem. I know how frustrating it can be.

Mine does that too. Ever since I bought it. I've never had a problem with the machine and I notice that my radio has a bit of static coming from the speaker when the machine is on too. I've read other post about this too and most if not everyone said they have the same noise.

I saw that too when I upgraded and haven't had a problem with it. I notice that the value of the distance above the work piece is not always the same either. It my say .625 one time and 1.325 the next time. I don't know why, but everything works fine.

Mine made wierd noises from the beginning and it's still working fine. Still making noises that don't sound right to me. Even the one I saw at Rockler's demo made noises so I didn't think anything of it when mine did.
