Re: spindle coolant

We are a heavy user. We have 4,000 hours on our spindle. We are located in 88049 New Mexico, 6000 ft. Temp of highs in the 100+F in the summer and lows of 10-20 in the winter We added a temp controlled cooling unit because we make 4 to 6 hour runs. Unattended. We selected distilled water and antifre...

Re: quick question for a new user regarding software...

Start on a project that you just love. Cause of the frustration while learning the love should help you through.
If you're running manual machines now, the CNC change will be straight forward.

Re: Shark Pro HD & Fusion 360

We do have our CNC running with Fusion360.
An intern did it a few summers ago.
You need a header (startup) section
And a footer (shutdown) section.

We have a spindle, so put in delays for spinning up.

The meat of the program is G-Code

Re: Turning a part into a template or pattern

I just used the Array, and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for.
One job has 1,000 holes. I can program one array and then do copy.

And it cuts one of the array parts out at a time. So when power fails, I only lose the part that was being worked on.

Thank You VCarve

Turning a part into a template or pattern

Hello:

I've done this before and can't figure out how I did it.

I have a part that I can route. I would like to save that design and then place in 10 times on my work area.
Then I can run those `10 parts as one job.

Using VCarve ver 10.x.x

THanks in advance

Re: Programming

We start with a simple CAD program (QuickCAD) and generate a 2D part with dimensions and notes. We then strip the dimensions and export a DFX file. Next import that into Vectrix and make all the cuts and generate a G Code file. If there are any changes to be made, we go back to the original CAD file...

Re: SUbroutines

I have a sort of different issue. 1. We lose power quite often LOT at our shop. And I typically break a tool when that happens. I can put from 8 to 100 of my pieces on a standard sheet to be cut. The VCarve software DOES NOT cut one part completely before starting another. SO power failures not cost...

SUbroutines

Hello All: I need to place several parts on a sheet for manufacturing. To get the best packaging I need to place the parts with rotations of 90, 180 and 270 degrees. My parts need to be cut one at a time and any other part can't be started until the current part is finished. We have unreliable power...

Subroutines

I would like to use subroutines to cut multiples of the same part. I've read about templates but can't make that do what I want. I want to design one part, make it a subroutine then place that part 10 times on my material and generate G code to run. Reasons: I want to make changes to only one of the...

Re: Cutting air - NOT

We put an hour meter on the router power. I believe we find 625 hours is our limit.
So we see if we can finish each job before we even start.
