The only advice I can give you at this point is, like always, wait for the bit to stop spinning before you go grabbing it.

Re: Other Lasers

I looked at the shark, and other laser add ons and ultimately purchased a stand alone 15W diode laser. It requires a bit more work for alignment when I am engraving something that came off the Shark but I am able to do much more with it. Cutting wood with a diode laser will not be possible for thick...

Re: Carving Through Work Piece

I had this happen once when I was carving a pocket in maple with a 1/4” spiral bit. After looking at all of the options I came to the uneducated conclusion that I was packing too much dust/chips in the pocket path as well as attempting to carve too fast with a spiral bit. It made sense to me that th...

Re: Some recent projects

Rough cut to the desired finish dimension then cut the piece in half on the band saw. While I was there I cut a step in both ends to allow for 2 clamps on each end. With a semi flat surface I used my surfacing bit (1") and leveled what would be the bottom by using the jog function in control panel. ...

Re: Problem with Tolerance

My first thought has been that it was flex in the gantry as well, but this would not explain why I am getting differences in the horizontal and vertical line distances as well. I try to keep an eye on my bits as well considering that many are not "top of the line" brands. In this case I was using a ...

Problem with Tolerance

Hello all. Recently I've been experiencing some errors in dimension. Normally I am doing projects that I just rough dimension on the CNC and then finish with other processes. Projects like crib boards and such I typically use the sander to bring caps to the correct radius dimensions. A most recent p...

Re: Controller Replacement BlackBox

Try messaging @ssbxfire directly. His post indicates he has one. With a little looking it didn't take long to get my Shark HD4 up on a Blackbox controller. A few tuning parameters in grbl and I had the Blackbox controller cutting the same circles I cut with the Shark controller/pendant. Do I plan on...
