Re: Water cooled spindle
By New Age I assume you meant Next Wave. If so, the answer is yes, and very simple. Change the holding bracket, (new one comes with the spindle), get a 5 gallon bucket for the water, run the tubing, (included) to the pump(included) plug everything in and you're ready to go.

Re: Water cooled spindle
I have water cooled spindles on both of my Sharks, that I purchased from Next Wave. No trouble setting them up and they work fine with the Vectric software, since the software doesn't know what you are cutting with. Lots of good information on these forums. Have fun
Re: Nervous
When I got mine, the instructions were easy to follow. And if you need help, the Next Wave, and Vectric folks are great to talk to.

Re: Best way to carve or engrave small letters
Sorry, but I am really new at this. Probably missing a step in the software somewhere. Tried the line fonts, but when I went to create a tool path, software reported hundreds of incomplete vectors that it ignored, resulting in no text being printed in the 3D render using VCarve Pro 9.0. Any idea wh...

Re: COntroller won't connect
I have had the same problem with a couple of different laptops. My computer guy says it is most likely the USB connector not being as tight as it needs to be. I have one laptop that I have no problem with on one machine. And a new laptop that gives me the same problem on a 2nd machine. I usually get...

Re: Cypress Wood
Finally got to cut the cypress wood sign. Used a new 90* bit, 100 ipm feed rate, 17,000 rpm. Very pleased with the result. Hope this information helps someone else.

Cypress Wood
I am about to use cypress wood for the first time to make a small sign for a customer. Will be using a 90* v-bit. I would welcome any suggestions/help/advice from those of you with experience working with cypress.
Thank you.

Re: Spill Board Material
I use 3/4" MDF for my spoil board. It is easy to surface when needed. On those occasions that I tighten a hold down screw too tight and it pulls the MDF up, I willuse a 1" chisel to flatten the MDF where it is pulled up. This lengthens the time between surfacing operations.

Re: Touchplate Not Working
Matt, the times when my touchplate did the same thing, it was either not making good contact on the spindle, or I had partially unplugged the wire from the touchplate.

Re: Controller Issue - won't turn back on.
This has happened to me. I called NWA and one of the tech guys talked me through some diagnotics. Still had to send it in. Turns out the control board had to be replaced. They did have a fast turnaround. They got it one day and shipped it back out the next.
