Re: Shark Piranha vs Piranha FX

I asked Next Wave Automation if they would be making the laser avalable for the older Piranha and they told me that after they get their Kickstarter orders manufactured and shipping they were going to look at making an upgrade kit for the older modle

Re: Gaps in inlays?

The colt only goes down to 16,000 rpm.
I'll give that a try.

Re: dust collection

Mine is not so pretty but it works well. The front panel is on 270degree hinges so I can fold it all the way over and the sides open for cleaning. The controller is on a French cleat so I can pick it up and use it in hand. The machine is set on the edge of the cross supports so there is no way to ac...

Re: Gaps in inlays?

I am using VCarve desktop 8.020 Inlay (male and female) tool path I am using a 1/8" end mill at feed rate 60 inches/min. I believe the router is set to it's highest speed which the literature claims is 35,000 rpm. 20 ip...

Re: Piranha Issues

I see the flat is also inside the dish around the horse. This would hint to me that it is not likely binding on an obstacle or cord. Mimbler's suggestion of material movement or driving it too hard (too fast) are good to check. I'd also suggest checking to see if the router is secure in the clamp or...

How to create a keyhole slot?

How can I create a keyhole slot.

I have searched the forums but all of the solutions seem to be "use the gadget". Unfortunately, I have Vcarve desktop and cannot afford to pay $350 to make a keyhole.

Are there any other options?

Re: dust collection

I build an enclosure for my piranha with a vacuum port on the bottom and a vent on top.
Unfortunately my controller went out just as I finished the enclosure so I have not had a chance to use it yet.
