tap files not running properly

My HD4 is not running tap files correctly any longer. My machine stalled and the control box died and replacing the fuse did not fix the control box but I had a back up control box so I installed it. Then when I ran a tap file (that I run often) the controller isn't running the file properly. i.e. I...

Re: Constant home position

I watched the Controller video and he mentions you can do this but for the life of me following his instructions do not work for me. :( Anyone else able to set a new default home?

Re: Welcome to CNC Shark Talk!

I attended the Randy Johnson LCD Touchscreen Pendant Setup and Operation
Thursday, July 8, 2021, and was wondering if he posted the video somewhere. The next wave page for videos is hard to figure out because I can't see how to log in. Any help will be appreciated :)
TIA

Re: HD4 pendant Problems

What I have found with the Shark HD4 controller and pendant is they are both heat and cold intolerant. My problem is the heat because I live in Texas. The only work around I have found is to put the USB into the freezer for about 5 minutes and this does getting working. However today after running f...

Re: Very disappointed!

Your fuse probably blew, just replace it and all should work again. Your going to cover the bed anyway so other than disappointment all will be fine. I'm guessing it was you didn't set Z up properly is all. :) take a deep breath and just keep on keeping on. I love my shark. I could only wish for a 4...

Re: Shark HD4 stuck at front 6" of machine

Update, it is now fixed. The problem after taking the bed and gantry off (which would have been unnecessary) I noticed the back bearing looked different on one side than the other and one would not go past the plastic frame underneath. After looking at the good bearing I seen that the set screw was ...

Re: Shark HD4 stuck at front 6" of machine

I've confirmed there is nothing blocking the gantry bearings or shaft. I'e used high pressure air on both the shaft and bearings. I am still stuck at the front 6" of the machine. I can run jobs there so it could be worse. Here is a video of the machine https://youtu.be/_hou6w4ICYE
Thanks

Re: Shark HD4 stuck at front 6" of machine

I'm going to look at this again. this morning. The machine is fully functional within that 6-7 inch area at the front of the machine. I can move side to side and all the way up to the point where the problem is then back to the front 6 again. I'm going to see if I can get the molded metal bed to sli...

Re: Shark HD4 stuck at front 6" of machine

What I mean is. That noise that you get when you push the Z axis up to far and the machine clicks and jumps a bit. Well when I am moving the gantry away from the project at the front of my machine so I can change the bit I am only able to go "away" about 6" from the front of the machine and then I g...
