Re: Next Wave Shark HD520 -getting underneath to Y axis?
I removed mine 3 years ago. If I remember right I used a dremel and cut through the thin metal and removed the metal cover. No real reason for it to be there.

Re: wireing harness for 2 watt lazer
How often do you clean your protective lens on the 20 watt? I have 2 of the 2 watt lasers, I stopped using them when i learned they were not centered on the spindle center mark, the laser seems to move out of alignment during operation (if slightly rotates) and they were underpowered for my needs. I...

Re: wireing harness for 2 watt lazer
I can take a picture of my 2 watt laser if you still need it. I upgraded to the 20watt Atomstack that Nextwave sells. The 2 watt laser never burnt much stuff up. I did a great job of etching wood and it didn't really matter too much on the settngs. The 20 watt will burn a hole through half inch red ...

Re: Longest SVGA Cable for Pendant?
I would have just taken a standard VGA cable cut the ends off of it and spliced in the length I needed. I had something similar to this with the cables that lead from the controller to the stepper motors. I have had 2 cables go open over the past 5 years. Generally at a 90 degree clamped bend. I hav...

Re: Problem with 7w laser
I have a 20 watt and a 3 watt laser. Both will burn if they are not focused, wood is soft and hard like pine is, dirty protective lens on the 20 watt. Speed and power and good luck is always my pro's and cons and bains to lasering.
Have you cleaned the 7 watt laser lens lately?

Re: Carved pocket bottom not flat
Bit slipping in the Collet? I had that a few months back. After cleaning I tried it again and it slipped again so I threw it away.

Re: Virtual Zero
I just upgraded my Portacable router 3 plug power to a new Bosch router 2 plug. Since the new router is double insulated I have to always use the magnet and connect it up to the collet to get z to calibrate. With the grounded portacable I never used the magnet. If I was using virtual zero that would...

Re: Defective Cable
All is well. The new cable fixed the issue. Here is a video of the trouble shooting and then the fix.

Defective Cable
My Shark HD510 is going on 5 years old. Hundreds of projects. A few years ago I had a defective cable going to the Z motor it had a splice with a open conductor that was in the chain track. They sent me a motor with cable kit. I replaced the cable and it was fixed. Three years later I had this happe...
