New day, fresh start, not as hard as it looked. 3 screws, 4 bolts to remove the stepper motor. Rotate the lead screw so the router is at its bottom position then lift the router and the coupler pops up out of its hidey hole. A long handled 7/32 allen with a tee grip would have been a big help here. ...

Access to Z axis coupler?
The upper set screw on the Z axis came loose and separated from the stepper motor. Is there a procedure to access the set screw without disassembling too much? Is there a flat on the stepper motor shaft? It's a Shark 100 with the coupler way up inside the block the stepper motor bolts to.

Advice...no, just an observation. Bottom photo magnified looks more like the part shifted. Are the tabs failing before the route is finished? Tried 3 tabs?

Thanks for the ideas Max. Eventually I'll cobble something together with a quick release clamp like the original router base.

Difficulties with router mounting plates
New Shark SD100, new Bosch 1 hp colt. Neither the B1.25 or the B1 plate will snug up on the router with the cinch bolt fully tightened. The D plate is too small, could force it on but the plate distorts and the cinch bolt won't span the bigger gap. The B1 plate might work if a smidge of material was...
