Re: Pendant screen calibration not working on Shark HD500
HERE'S THE FIX A chip was caught between the plastic housing and touch screen. Tech support told me to take a business car and run it all the way around the screen (with the system OFF), BETWEEN the housing and the screen. This cleared out the chip that had gotten in there and was causing the "phan...

Pendant screen calibration not working on Shark HD500
I was in the middle of a small job and had to stop the tap file that was running to fix an issue. So I: - Stopped the job - Removed the usb stick - Fixed the problem and saved the new tap file back to the usb - Put the usb stick back into the pendant - THEN, when I tried to select USB from the penda...

Engraving Brass
I know this has been discussed before, but I'm still in need of reassurance and clarity for the best way to do it before I commit. The goal is to create plaques (approx. 5x7 brass plates mounted on wood) with engraved text and fill some shapes with texture. I admit to never having played with textur...

Z Axis step mode?
Hi,
Is there a Z axis "step mode" in the pendant for my Shark 500? It was mentioned on a Vectric forum but I can't find it.
TIA,
Richard

Re: New 7 watt laser not working
Gotcha's. It's in my basement in what was formerly a darkroom. No ventilation. I am running a shop vac with the dust collector brush, and that seems to help some. Perhaps a Heppa (Hippa?) filter somewhere along that hose world do a better job getting our the smoke particulates. Anybody have thoughts...

Re: New 7 watt laser not working
I totally missed that. Thanks VERY much, it's up & running now!
I dialed back the speed to burn the wood less, but it still creates smoke. I worry about setting off a smoke alarm. Any tips?
Thanks again!!

New 7 watt laser not working
I'm sure it's something simple, BUT: - everything is connected correctly and the key is on - running the test from the pendant results in 3 flashes - I've double checked the toolpath specs and have set everything per the instructions - the spindle speed is set at 1000 When I run it, it moves as thou...

Did I kill my machine?!?
I did a stupid thing. I'd run a slot to create a t-slot in my sacrificial MDF board with 1/4 " end mill bit. That went perfectly, but then I put in a slot cutter bit to follow the slot which I'd manually cut with another router that couldn't make it all the way back. So when the CNC hit the area whi...

Using the 7 watt laser - Newbie
I'm looking for advice on how to use my brand new laser, as in workflow and which software to use to burn/etch images & designs. Do I create the work in VCarve and somehow choose the laser as the "tool" or something else? The objective is to use it to output digital photos artwork, etc. TIA, Richard
