Bob:
Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't have any dryer sheets, but did have Static Guard spray aerosol. I used it to lightly spray the plastic and metal parts of the Shark Pro Plus as well as the Lexan front that I made for my enclosure for the unit. It worked very well.

Static cling
With the colder weather and lower indoor humidity, I'm getting a lot of static cling of cutting dust on the plastic and metal components of my Shark Pro Plus. Just the fact that I'm seeing rather heavy static buildup kinda concerns me, as I don't think a static discharge in a dusty environment, such...

Re: add bitmap to text?
Thanks, Joe.... I'll try again on Monday or Tuesday when I get some time. Is the tutorial on the Vectric webpage? Can you mix text and a jpeg picture on the same crv file? I assume that separate toolpaths will be generated. I'm also assuming that where I place the jpeg figure on the V-Carve screen i...

add bitmap to text?
I've setup a text sign. I want to add a bitmap figure that is a jpeg file to the sign. I can import the figure onto V-Carve Pro where the text is.... however, the jpeg file does not appear as a vector and is ignored when I go to set up my toolpaths. What am I doing wrong?

Re: tool database edit
daveespenden: Thanks for the reply. I replied to my post of Nov 24th as I finally figured out, with help from "Joe" and Mark at Vectric, what the problem was with V-Carve. However, as the post reply indicates, I also found out that when using Cut3D, the software is limited to only two tool families,...

Re: How do I add router bits to pulldown menu?
I figured out that there is no option to edit the tool selection on the main V-Carve Pro window. One needs to load a "crv" file, then the option to edit the toolbase appears. Another interesting, but related obstacle was addressed by "Mark" at Vetric regarding editing the toolbase in Cut3D. Only end...

Re: How do I add router bits to pulldown menu?
Joe and fellow Shark Talk members: I finally had time to follow Joe's instructions on how to add a new tool to my tool database. On your step 2, your pulldown menu of types of tools shows many choices, mine shows only "endmill" and "roundnose". I want to add a 1/4" v-bit, and a 1/16" straight bit......

tool database edit
I'm having a problem trying to edit the tool database. My understanding in V-Carve Pro is that I should have an option in the upper left hand window to "edit the toolbase". I don't see any such option. All that's there is "file", "gadgets", and "help". I also looked in Cut3D and there is no option t...

Had to make some modifications....
The plastic film idea does not work very well.... the corners keep coming undone. The box controled about 95% of the Shark generated cuttings/dust, though, when the plastic would stay put. So...I enclosed the box with 1/4" plywood, added a fluorescent light fixture, and fashioned a 12" hinged flap i...

Thanks so much for the help. It's so simple once you see it explained. I thank you for taking the time to put together such a nice and easy to follow explanation.
