Re: Why am I getting various cut depths?

The text is Times New Roman, but the letters being cut are the same ones being used several times around the cribbage board perimiter. So the same letters are being cut at different depths.

Why am I getting various cut depths?

I dont know why this is happening but, before I even start to do the v-carve engraving, I do a pocket toolpath cut so I have a completely flat work surface. I next do the v-carve toolpath and I am ending up with the words being cut around the 15" diameter at varying depths, in some cases twice as de...

Re: Frustrated

Well, thanks to another local Shark user, I am up and running. He came over and got my other computer, an Acer netbook going with it. Now I am finally enjoying the use of the tool. I am using the newer computer to do my design work, copying to a thumb drive and running the program on the netbook.

Re: Reset switch?

For this project I was using some 3/4" oak. I had a 1/4" thick piece MDF under the oak but when the shark decided to go askew it did it in a matter of a couple of seconds and buy the time I went the 5 or 6 feet to the e-stop it had gone through the oak, the MDF, and into the aluminum tabletop. I wil...

Re: Reset switch?

Well, after finding and reading the "wierd cuts, now have no power" post I have changed the blown fuse and have the power back to my machine. This does not however explain why this keeps happening in the first place. This still needs to be addressed, there is no point in having to stand there at the...

Re: Weird cuts, now controller has no power

I too am having the same issues. Not with the X or Y but with the Z and always when doing a profile cut. This last time I had the same problem as you did it bored deep through the wood and into the aluminum table binding everything before I could hit the kill switch. I too have a blacked out control...

Reset switch?

Is there a reset switch someplace. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my control box or if there is another underlying problem somewhere. I have finally got my Shark Pro Plus operational after a month of struggling, very greatful to another local Shark owner. I have only run a few project...

Re: Frustrated

Tim sent me a patch but it didn't work. Waiting to hear back from him for the next step at this point. I purchased the laptop from Costco and they give you a 90 days return policy for electronics. I would just hate to still be trying to get the Shark to be functional after all that time then have to...

Re: Show us where your from map

I'll chime in with my Shark Pro Plus in Woodinville Washington even though I'm still just an owner and not yet a user.

Re: Frustrated

The laptop I purchased for the tool is a Dell that is equiped with Windows 7 Home Premium, 6 GB of memory, and has a 64 bit operating system.
