Re: Carving Concentric Circles

Is the 3/32' difference constant or does it change with the size of the circle? Do squares do the same thing? Have you checked the play in your Y axis?

Sorry for no anwser but maybe the questions will get us some where. I'm going to try this when I get home tonight..

Re: Shark vs Compucarve/Carvewright

Comparing the Cravewright to the Shark is like comparing point and shoot camera to a SLR. The Carvewright is good for quick small projects and for people that really don't want to learn how to use a CNC, tell the software the size of your board, load a pattern, load it onto the memory card, plug it ...

Re: Vacuum Clamp

Just got the majority of the pieces to built the Vacuum system with, a quick stop by the hardware store on the way home to get the rest. I was thinking of making the first clamp out of MDF as I still have a few learning events while carving. Know of any problems I might run into?

Re: Software install question

Not much you can do with the software with out the machine. The software you download is just to control the machine and to run the gcode generated by the Vcarve. I'm not sure it will run if it doesn't detect thecontrol box.

Ya, I know. Worst then waiting on Christmas!!

Re: QUESTION about BITS

I also use a 1/16" ballnose carving bit that I got from Sears that was intended for their CarveWright system. There's also a 1/32" ball...

Re: Lubricating the Shark

FYI the Brand I use is Liquid Wrench. Drys fast and doesn't attract a lot of dust.
