Please realize that there are many sizes of the Shark and Piranha.

Is there a particular size you purchased that you want a cart for?

Re: UPS

Seems to me, another question that should be addressed is how long are your outages. A UPS should be enough to last most outages or provide enough time to properly shut down. Then there is the matter of other needs while the CNC is running. Do you use dust collection or lights and are they necessary...

Re: What is the Best Bit for Drilling?

This might be a good solution: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-2500-CARBIDE-2-FLUTE-MICRO-DRILL-MILLS-90-DEGREE-POINT-TIALN-COAT/153046726023?hash=item23a24bb587:g:husAAOSwJ7dbErqx If I use this sort of bit, I have to figure a deeper Z depth to have an even hole all of the way through (to accommodate ...

Re: Tramming Shark

Are you saying that your Z axis is not perpendicular to your table top and making some sort of saw tooth impression at the bottom after several passes with a end mill bit? The process depends on how much it is out and what direction. You mentioned X axis. How about some pictures and indicate the ori...

Butt Impression Please

I Figure on making some stools with butt impression seats (carved chair seats) but I do not have any ideas on dimensions (what is considered standard (is there such a thing?)). Probably use VCarve, 3D carving and a round bull nose bit to do most of the work. Only guessing here. Can't find any Youtub...

Re: Carving Spoons

This guy shows how to make a jig to make it easier to reproduce wooden spoons but not how to use Vcarve. But worth the watch. Making spoons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u45tZtebIDM Here is the tutorial on making 2 sided wooden spoons. Tips & Tricks | Creating a 2-Sided Spoon with Beki | Vectric h...

Re: Adding a flycutter bit to vcarve pro

Like Berry said, just add it as a 1 1/4" end mill. Keep the RPMs down. Just know that with large diameter bits like this, it will show any miss alignments regarding your Z axis. Any 1/4 degree of tilt will now be noticeable. Do a couple of short passes both X and Y to be sure all alignments are good...

What is the Best Bit for Drilling?

One of the projects I'm working on is to drill 100 1/4" holes in a 24"X24" hard wood board. In the past, I only needed to drill one or 2 holes so I used an end mill, but, that is pretty hard on an end mill and with 100 holes, I fear it would be destructive to an end mill bit. Some of you make cribba...

Re: Workflow: Design to CNC

CanisLupus, There is an alternative to V-Carve and several here have been using it. It is called AutoDesk Fusion 360. Here is a link to one of the forum's discussions about it. http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5196 There is also a post processor that will output G code that works wel...

Re: computed run time vs machine actual

V Carve was written for many more machines that the sharks. It is what Next Wave selected as one of the CAD CAM software that works. When V Carve gives the time estimate for carve, you haven't selected a post processor. Note they call it estimate. Check this out, look at the estimated time, then cha...
