Tony, If you go to your local hardware store, you can get 5/16" brass toilet bolts. These should slide in to the slots. They are what I use. Brass is good because your router bit has a chance of surviving if it hits the bolt. I get the longest ones available. You can always cut them shorter if neede...

Would you please post the crv (drawing) file. The problem may be easier to see that way. Are you using the profile tool path?

It's always good to hear from you.

The biggest challenge for this project is registering the drumstick properly for engraving.

There's a good description somewhere here on the forum. I'll go check.

Rod, I would use a circular 3D tab, from the Vectric clip art folder. Change the width and height to match a drumstick. Use the " project toolpath onto a 3D model " to engrave on this project. Thank you for the update.
Registration of the equipment remains my biggest obstacle to using cnc.
After all connections are good, the actual operation 0f a cnc is relatively easy.

Just a thought: I've made clock hands from 1/64, or 1/32 plywood. I purchased it from hobby shops that have model airplane supplies. If necessary, I make a small diameter hub and glue it to a hand.
