Dead blow mallet

Post by BillK »

Here are the basic V-carve files for my dead blow mallet as featured here: http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3945

I use 3/8 dowels for assembly. the steel balls fill about 1/3 of the cavity. You will notice that I don't cut all the way through on the profile cuts. I use a flush trim bit on my router table to finish those up. Feel free to change anything, and proceed with caution. When you cut the pocket for thickness of the handle end, cut one side, measure the overall thickness at the end and adjust the pocket depth for the otherside to your measurement.

Thank you very much for sharing these files. I have been wanting to build a mallet for a while now, your files may be just the inspiration I need to make it happen.
