Etching Post Processor

Post by markjonesranger »

I edited the latest nextwave inch .pp (post processor file for Shark 510HD) file to make it handy for using the etching tool path for using Drag Knifes or Drag Pen like a plotter.
Here is the link to the post processor file. Just import it into your vectric software and use it when etching. All it does is shuts the power to the router off so the spindle won't spin.

Also made up a Sharpie Plotter Pen for my Shark. Works great. Uses 1/2" sprinkler rise 6" long cut it to fit, 1 1/4x 20 x 1.5" long stainless steel hex bolt with threads the whole length and a stainless steel nylon lock nut. 2 end caps to fit the sprinkler riser and a foam hearing ear plug that is washed in dish soap so it stays flexible faster. Got this idea off of CNCnuts on youtube and modified it a tad using the sprikler pipe. Works great.
Video on youtube of my learning process.

nice! I just got an etcher and was wondering if the spindle ran during the etching. I'll download and try it.
