Glass Etching

Post by heresursign »

On the shark website, I noticed they advertise that the shark can be used for glass etching. Anybody had any experience using the shark for glass etching? I have located a spring loaded tool online that might be the tool for this but just need some feedback.

I did one the same way an acrylic carving is done.
I made a new router bracket for my Dremel and used a burring bit.
I don't have a picture of it though.

The dremel had crossed my mind, but the main concern I had was controlling the pressure on the bit to prevent cracking the glass while still getting an even etch.

One of our Shark Owners Group members uses his Shark to engrave glass mirrors.
He uses a soft pad under the glass to control pressure.
I'm still too hesitant to try it.

I used a high density foam pad under the glass
