Need some help please. I am trying to v carve diagonal lines in some cast acrylic for a light diffuser for a lithophane. I need to draw diagonal lines that are spaced at .05 ".It will be in a 7'X7" square.
If I can get either angle done I can reverse the vectors to do the other angle to get a cross hatched pattern. Please give me some ideas on how to accomplish this. I have the Aspire 8.024.
Thanks Jim Happy Holidays everybody.

Re: diagonal lines
Draw your 7x7 box.
Draw a 45% line from the top left corner of the box down to the left until it is even with the bottom of the box.
Select the line.
Open Array Copy
Enter rows 1 columns 281
click offset
enter X0.05 Y0.00
Hit Copy
Open Mirror
Check Create mirrored copy
Check Flip about job center
Click Flip Horizontal
Close
Click Group selected vectors
keep hatch selected and Select the 7x7 box
Click trim objects to boundary
select trim outside boundary
click clear
click close

Re: diagonal lines
Sorry I did not calculate the offset you need to make your lines 0.05 apart at 45%. The offset should be X 0.0707 Y 0.00 in the array copy form.

Re: diagonal lines
Jimbob,
Here is another method of creating your diagonal vectors or a diamond pattern.
You can use the Create Vector Texture Tool as follows:
This tool is new to VCP in version 8
First Draw a 7 X 7 rectangular vector.
Select the rectangle and select [Create Vector Texture] ICON in the create vectors menu.
You will use this twice to create the vectors at first at 45 deg. and then -45 deg. See the screen captures below to see the details entered into the [Create Vector Texture] form. Be sure the 7 x 7 rectangular vector is selected. Use select [preview] to check then [OK] to create the vectors in the named layer. Repeat the process entering -45 deg for creating the second set of lines to the same layer.
This tool is very useful for all kinds of textures. See the Vectric tutorial for more details on use of tool.
Hope this helps!
