Post by Kevink18 »

Was looking for some Cad drawings of the Z axes. I am wanting to change to aluminum And also add a water cooled spindal.

Not long ago I switched to the water cooled spindle. Was disappointed that it only had a 1/4 inch spindle. I surface my spoil board on occasion but the surface bit is 1/2 inch. I switched back to my electric router. Bummer.... Comments?

No sure if it will help you but;

Collets for Spindles are measures on an ER scale. ER-16 will hold a bit from 0.020" to 0.354", ER-20 0.039" to 0.512" ER-25 0.039" to 0.630". Keep this in mind when buying a Spindle. For the majority of us an ER-20 will serve all of our needs.

While I'm convinced that a water cooled spindle it the only way to go and would replace the ER-16 with an ER-20, but it's not within everyone's budget.
