I need to know how to delete program files that did not run as expected.

Delete them from where; the controller SD card, the CNC Basic Panel or V-Carve?. If the controller, just shutting down the controller and then reloading a G-code will clear it. I found it works the same for the CNC Basic Panel, close the program. For V-Carve, just go to the folder you saved the code to and delete like you would a normal file.
