Adding Project File Sharing Capability to the Forum

Post by jeb2cav »

From a separate post - http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=480 - and others I've seen, there's a desire to have this forum provide a capability to share VCarve (and perhaps other Vectric) project files for others to use and enjoy. I think it's a heck of an idea, but I also think the only way to convince the powers to be at Rockler that this has merit is to show them the level of interest.

So, I've created this post as a means of enabling those interested or who think it's a good idea to reply to. That way Al and other front line support folks can use the thread to communicate the interest "up the chain."

In your reply, please state whether you'd be interested in sharing your project(s), downloading for use and learning, or both.

I second this. If n00bs have free pre-made projects ready to cut/carve it would speed up the learning curve thus cutting more wood, using more bits, etc, etc. It'd be win/win.

I'M JUST STARTING UP. TRYING TO LEARN ON THE SHARK PRO. I BELIEVE IT WOULD HELP LIKE HECK, AND WOULD BE GLAD TO CONTRIBUTE, IF/WHEN I LEARN SOMETHING.

Check out my "Thinking inside the box" project. http://cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=477
Is this what you're talking about. I posted the crv file there.

It would be absolutely helpful. Learning by example drastically cuts the learning curve. I'd be happy to share my files as well.

That is exactly like I'm talking about, I'm at *cough* work *cough* and can't access the file but I believe it is what I wanted to do.

I think I just learned how to compress a crv.

I think I put this file in the wrong thread before. I'm starting to get lost in the fabric.

Great idea.
I would definitely like to be involved, first with the learning process and then with the sharing of projects.
