Is It Just Me

Is it just me or are there less and less posting on this forum? Looking at the number of post the last month from today, shows 31 posts and of them 8 were selling jammers or metal detectors (not CNC stuff). That leaves 24 CNC related posts in the past 30 days.

I remember when there were 15 to 20 postings a day.

Is it that the Shark isn’t as popular or there isn’t that much new to learn from the forum?

I’ve only been a member since Sept of 2015, Posted 139 times and read a bunch. I figure I’m an average user.

So, what gives?

I've noticed the same trend. This community used to be jumping with new posts, ideas, and questions. It feels a little empty now. I'd love to see more activity.

Almost nobody posts their work here anymore. When I do there are a good number of views but very few comments or interactions. Not sure why that is. This forum has tons of information, its a great reference. Hate to see it disappear.

Probably help if we had a moderator that paid attention and took care of business

This is part of it!

But I have gotten some good info here. I still consider myself a newbie but I have also learned enough to help contribute. I do wish that there was more traffic here.

Yup, that is a big part of it and that is one of the main reasons I have left this forum. To many sales posts for shoes, metal detectors, jammers, etc....

I have been at the Vectric forum mostly these days. Get a lot of help there and it is not Shark specific which does at least for me make things more interesting.

This is the forum is where I started when I purchased my Shark in 2016 it was very active and got a lot of information from this forum back then but since then this forum has seemed to slowly fade away.

Basically I think that most issues are not hardware related but rather software related. The default software for the shark is the Vcarve that comes with the machine. So I just think most people ask their questions on the Vectric forum since the vectric pros are not necessary shark owners.

There are times I wish I had an old Shark Controller Program, like the one I had back in 2009.

I agree but I would like to add that most of the time it is usually an individuals little to no experience with the software and/or machine. The Vectric software is well written and most cnc machines are adequate for their intended use (usually amounts to what an individual wants to do with his/her cnc machine). Some cnc machines need to be beefed up and adjusted. Other cnc machines are adequate enough just may need a little fine tuning adjustments.

I'd love it if the Powers That Be gave moderator access to one of the regulars, even if only to eliminate spammers. I'm not sure who to reach out to about it, but I'd be willing to do it. Bill or Shark, you'd do great, too. Anyone who is here often enough to keep up with spammers and responsible enough not to moderate anyone else.
