I am looking to do some 3d carving on a rotary project. One of the things I need is a M2 taper in the tailstock in order to install a larger diameter cup on the live center.
I found a tailstock on Amazon that meets the need except for the height. The center-height of the after market tailstock is 2.5 inches. The NWCNC headstock is 2.25 inches to the center I am thinking that a 0.25 thick aluminum plate under the headstock will even out the center height. Has anyone tried this?
