Combining CNC with laser engraving

Post by sprevost »

Here are some of my first projects that I have combined the use of my Shark CNC with the newest addition, Full Spectrum Laser for both wood and glass engraving. Each of these pieces were custom ordered designs. The two transformer pieces are hard maple with a jatoba frame. Bumblebee was created using laser engraving, while Optimus Prime was created as a relief carving with CNC. The Star Wars frame was made from Sequoia Redwood and used a combination of CNC and laser engraving to create the final design. This has become one of my favorite project completions.

sprevost,

These look great. I really like the starwars frame as well.

Did you add a laser to your Shark? Or is it a separate machine?

Thank you. It is a separate machine. I purchased the Full Spectrum Laser 5th Gen hobby laser with 45 watt upgrade.
