The MDF serves as a spoilboard when he's cutting. If the but plunges a little too deeply into the MDF, it's not a big deal. You can cut through your workpieces and slightly into the MDF with no problem. Zoom in on the photo and imagine how poorly that would go if it were aluminum instead. Also much cheaper to replace than aluminum.

I very interested in your small clamp designs, Sharkcutup. Can you talk a little about how you made them and how you use them? Do they get a lot of use?

The Router Bit Storage Rack is at the back of the machine outside the cutting surface planed area which in no way interferes with any of the projects I have worked on so far. if by chance I ever
need to use the full length of the table for tiling purposes or the like the storage rack can be easily removed!

The small clamps I made are for small parts which are cutout of small wood scraps mainly. I had made them for a project in which they were needed and have come in handy in other situations since.

My workshop is small and there has been many times where I needed a drill press but do not have the room for one so I have used the CNC Machine manually at times as a drill press along with the clamps holding the parts firmly in place on the CNC table. The clamps are not used very often but are available when needed!

Have a GREAT Day!

I bought the Kreg table 44" × 64" with the casters, it gives enough room on the side of the machine for tools or parts and you have a whole shelf underneath to build storage drawers and for the water reservoir for the spindle 5 gallon bucket, you'll have to drill holes on the side of the bucket near the top for the water lines and pump cord as the bucket just fits under the top shelf

I'm trying to set up my HD4 with spindle now. Can you send or post pics of the the water bucket setup? I'm going to post this question as a new topic but wanted to ask here in case you're not monitoring the forums.

Water reservoir, for the power cord drill the hole close to top then using utility knife cut straight down from top of bucket to the hole then spread the cut apart to get power cord in and then the bucket lid will seal it tight, no dust!

Sorry kind of a mess, in the middle of setting up the laser, with my control module all of the way at the foot of the machine I would like to run the power cable of the laser head through the drag chains but it isn't long enough, the cable attached to the laser is 5' 6" I need 16' to run through the drag chain on the gantry then through the drag chain on the side of the table down to the foot of the table where the control module is located, Next Wave doesn't sell an extension assembly, frustrated, I contacted an aerospace friend of mine from LA and she found the exact parts using the build up and specs that Next Wave provided me so I can make my own extension, the parts will be here Monday I will take pics of finished table set up with laser cradle on back of gantry to put the laser head in when switching to the spindle for carving, I think it will be pretty cool and I will clean up the mess and put the vacuum hose in it's holder

I just bought a used Shark Pro Plus HD and am having the same thoughts about what to do with it. At first I have a 4x8 assembly table and it landed there. I have a torsion box bench that seems to never be used that is about 2.5' x 4' and I moved the machine to there for now. I have ordered a dedicated Dell Optiplex computer and 2 19" monitors from Ebay for $200.00. I ordered a dual monitor stand from Amazon for $27.00 and need to make a stand and computer station to hold everything. I bought the dedicated computer to keep my expensive laptop out of the shop.

I need to make an enclosure for the computer and the CNC Controller that has an air filter and fans to keep everything cool and dust free (as much dust as possible in a workshop).

This week I got Popular Woodworking magazine and on the cover is a table saw outfeed table with a place for an Xcarve below on a shelf. The design would not work for me bacause I am not going to crawl on the floor to make bit changes but it is something to think about. I also saw several fold up designs on youtube but again they were smaller Shapeoko or Xcarve machines.

I will eventually figure out something. Please post what you decide on doing.
