Running the water cooled spindle while not carving

Post by BA in MO »

Really new at this and just want to be sure I don't screw it up. To run the spindle for a warm up as an example, do I just unplug the control cable between the box and the VFD or can this harm the thing. I would think setting the speed control down before unplugging it from the box with the power off would be OK but really don't want to mess up my fun new toy. It's the 520. I've had the little Piranha for a few years now. Thanks in advance!

Water cooling methods face two major obstacles in terms of the work environment. First, water-cooled spindles require a continuous water supply, pumps, and other such equipment
