Hi everyone. I am new to the Shark world and can't wait to get my new HD510 set up and going. It is a step up from my iCarver 40-915x. I have to re-run all of my tool paths from past projects to change them from the old post processor to the new, but no big deal. I hope.

I will use the machine in my converted cargo trailer, and I currently run everything with a couple of inverter generators. One is 4500/3500 and the other is 2000/1600. I am definitely not an electrician, so I have a few dumb questions:
1) Will the 3500 run the 2HP water cooled spindle along with the rest of the electronics?
2) How much surge protection should I have between the 3500/20 amp output, and the electronics? I am told that over 2000 joules would be
fine, but I figure that more opinions would be a good idea.

I would consider using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to smooth out any fluctuations.

Yeah. Not many responses out here. So far this forum has not been very helpful but I thought I would at least try on a few where I have at least a little knowledge.
