“Old Dog” Forgot new tricks! Help!
I have not run this machine for almost two years do to health problems.

CNC Shark System as follows:
CNC Shark with Processor CP v2.1 connected via USB to
Dell XPS 13 w. 11th Gen i& @ 2.8 GHz 64-bit OS, x64-base processor
OS: Windows 11 – Home Addition Build: 220000.1335
Drivers Updated to current
Connected to a Dell Lighting Docking Port
External device connected to docking Port:
External Dell Monitor
External Dell Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse
USB to CNC Shark Controller
G-Code all generated with Vectric VCarve Pro v8.5

We have successfully ran this system in the past.
I have created a couple new quick engrave programs and save them with the post processor CNCShark-USB Arcs (inch)(*.tap) When I load and start program it runs about 3-4 seconds, the spindle moves to the start position and stops.

I loaded and old (*.tap) file and it ran successfully. I’m thinking there might be and issue with the post processor file selected (CNCShark-USB Arcs (inch)(*.tap)).

All Ideas are more than welcome.

Hey, Rod. The post processor would be my first guess if you've updated it since you last used it. Otherwise, I'm wondering if you maybe exported the job from VCarve/Aspire incorrectly. Try running the simulation on that toolpath in VCarve first and see if it does what you want. Then try exporting it. If it still doesn't work, can you show us some screenshots of the job, the export, and attach the .tap file?

Also, I hope you don't mind, but I've removed the last screenshot from your post. It includes all of your shark registration keys, which aren't something you want other people to have. If someone else tries to use them, it may raise flags with the registration system and cause problems for you.

Sorry for the delayed reply as I had trouble logging in to forum after updating my email address. It looks like the login problem is corrected now.

Yes I'm running the "simulation" in the Preview Toolpaths page in VCarve Pro and it looks OK.
Then I select the Save Toolpaths page and select the Post Processor "CNCShark-USB Arcs (inch) (@.tap) and save toolpath(s) to file.

I can't remember when I did the last update.

I also saw another post from someone on the forum that mentioned the yellow LED indicator and that he had to replace his controller. The post wasn't clear on the yellow LED indication.

I just made another attempt as follows:
Start CNCShark CP v2.1 on PC
Pwr On Ctlr LED: Blue ON, Yel Blink, Red ON
Select OK LED: Blue OFF, Yel ON, Red ON
Socket Error #11001 Host not found, Select OK
Error Unable to check Version on NextWaveAudimation.com, Select OK
NWA Splash Screen indicates SW is Registered & Ctlr ID: 7618 Mod: 4003 Bootloader: 0
Controller FW: 2090
Select: Load G-Code Ctlr. LEDs no change
Select: Run File > Loading file > Press OK to Begin
Spindle Moves for about 3 seconds and stops

I'll look into updates but I'm not sure anything is available for my old versions.

Try first just powering on the controller (don't begin with the s/w). The LEDs should indicate the same. Then check Device Manager. You should see OEMTech CNC Controller listed and no errors indicated. If Controller makes a successful connection with the S/W the yellow LED will be solid. Blue solid. Red not lit. Report back if you get this far.

In addition to posting this problem here I also posted the issue on the Vectric/VCarve forum. They examined the screen capture of the G-code and saw on line 32 that F0 was indicated. This meaning a feed rate of zero. The problem was caused by my mistake of neglecting to enter the plunge rate for the new tool I added to the database. I corrected this and re-calculated the toolpath and eveything is alright now.

As for the software and controller startup sequence in my system and version of software the USB connection is not successful when the controller is powered on first. I must start the CNCShark software and it prompts you to turn on the controller and select [OK]. I have tried it the other way many times and most of the time it does not connect.

This socket error has nothing to do with feed rate - it's another issue. I suspect you have another issue buried in your system but if your happy that's all that matters.
