carving half scale

Post by Rob »

I have the shark pro plus, haven't used it much in the last 3 years because of re locating it to our upgraded wood shop. I'm using a different computer w/ windows 7. I re installed all the software and upgraded to vcarve 6.5 everything seemed to be going ok but the designs are carving at half scale. it's the weekend or I'd call Tim who is always helpful. any advice Thanks in advance Rob

The first thing I'd ask is if the .dxf or whatever is importing at the right scale.

You should have defined the blank size as your first step if you are drawing in VCarve, so the screen should show you the relative scale. If you open a file as a .dxf, it should automatically create a board sized to exactly fit the .dxf.

Also, are you utilizing the correct post processor?

If you want to post your VCarve file here, I or someone, can very likely tell you if the problem is in the CAD/CAM or a mechanical (machine) issue.
