Sign Routing

Post by parks4 »

I am making a few signs and am having problems figuring out my CNC machine. I am using a 3/16'' Dia. x 5/16''H x 1/4'' shank rockler signmaking carbide bit and there seems to not be an option for that bit in the CNC machine. I have attached an image showing there is not an option. I am probably wrong on there not being a bit option. I am new to sign making. Also, what would be the best engraving path for this type of bit? Thank you.

What Rockler is showing as a sign making bit is a box core router bit.
that probably falls under the category of a forming endmill. You'll have to look at the
tutorials for adding your own forming tool.

Correct that is a box core bit which is a type of form tool. You need to go to the Vectric website and search out the tutorial that covers the tool database there is a section of the video tutorial that explains/shows how to accomplish that task.

Good Luck!

Good answer already. I'll add a link to a YouTube tutorial:
