New owner, Shark HD v2, shipped today.

I was wondering if the axis files could be posted at THINGIVERSE?

THINGIVERSE also has some CNC/MILLING files which may be useful to this mod.

Many of the files, .stl and .obj format, could be applied to to the Shark.

So far this has been an excellent resource.

I knew that eventually, I could have a fourth axis project to work on.
This is a container for lead shot that is used as a drive weight for my latest wooden gear clock.
Weight can be added or subtracted through a plug in the bottom.
I first made octagon tubes and capped them so that they could be mounted in my fourth axis device.
After using a pocket cut to make the cylinder round, I engraved the design on two sides.
Then both ends of the tube were cut off, leaving the center section at the correct length.
Ends were capped with caps made on the Shark.
A hook was added.
Several coats of rattle can satin lacquer.
Fill with lead, and done.

That ring on the bottom of the picture shows a cross section of the tube.

It's fun to watch engraving on a cylindrical surface.

WOO HOO! Another great use for cylindrical carving.
One confession: I did spin the finished tube on my lathe for sanding.

It's good to hear from you,
The guy who's taken this in all sorts of different places is Kurt. He is a frequent contributor to our Owner's group meetings in Milwaukee, and to this forum. He has made engraved cylindrical boxes, threaded projects, inlays, and many modifications to the original design.
So...That's my update. This thing is working beyond it's design expectations.
