I'm curious. Would you be willing to post your .crv file? There might be some clues...
Is this your first 3D carve? Have you done single sided 3D carves yet?
How much experience have you had with the CNC?

Back to the topic: Where are you setting your Z in the setup section of VCarve? To the table bed or to the top of the workpiece?
And what surface are you setting the actual z zero when setting up the job on the machine?

Are you having fun yet?

I have tried duplicating your problem issue in V-Carve Pro Vrersion 12.009 without success. All seems to be operating as expected.

I do have a couple of questions though ----

Are you using setting the Z-Zero using a set block between bit and material or are you setting Z-Zero directly off of the material?

If you are using a Set block have you put the set block thickness in the CP2.1 Control Panel Preferences for the set block?

Hi Bob, haha well I guess fun is subjective but always working in that general direction. Thanks for asking.

To answer your question, Yes this is my very first attempt-- without even going through the basics. If it weren't pressurized situation I would be a lot more relaxed about the learning experience.

Attached is a csv file of the toolpath ( .TAP) file. I think I did it correctly, as well as the Vectric Cut3D file ( inside of a zip).

Thank you

Dan

Hello, I have been jogging the tip of the cutter to the the X,Y "center" ( on the top surface of the workpiece). And then zero'ing everything out before clicking "Run File".

( Image attached of corresponding settings in Vectric Cut3D which i hope is helpful.)

Not using a Touchplate currently.

Thank you!

OK Dan,
I loaded up your program and progressed through the windows for your settings and calculations. It all seemed good until I got to the last window (7).
Either you had the wrong post processor selected, or my program defaulted to the wrong one.
So my question is: Which post processor did you select? And: Do you have a PP for the CNC Shark in the list?

I had not read your response thoroughly until now- my apologies. So, after checking preferences, the depth was set at .375". My set block is actually right at .380" ( after checking w/ calipers) so I updated the setting. Thanks for the input.
