I tried to load an image here but I can't figure out how to. I did a 8'x11' plaque using a White Side 11 Deg V Bit for the first time, and it took 3hrs. IDK why it took so long. Im not a newbie anymore, as my screen name indicates!
Here are my settings
11 deg o.25"
Diameter .25 inches
Included Angle 11.0 degrees
Pass Depth 0.15 inches
Final Pass Stepover 0.002 inches 0.8 %
Clearance Pass Stepover 0.05 inches 20%
Spindle Speed 16000 r.p.m.
Feed Rate 100 inches/min
Plunge Rate 30
Total Number 1
My FRO was 85, then I tried 75, because the insides of the small letters was coming out. I am carving plywood. My colt is set at 5

The first thing that comes to mind is... Where there pockets in the design that you pocketed by the V bit?....that would take a while. But not being able to view the design I'm just guessing.

Lots and lots of little movements during a Vcarve, and with a small bit with small stepover I'm not surprised by the long cut time. The bit generally never gets up to full feed speed when doing nothing but short vectors.
