New HD4 question
How do I setup the HD4 to allow me to change tools when using VCarve desktop. The project I am working on has 3 tools. I have asked this same question on the Vectric formum and they said I have to setup my machine to do that manually unless I have the auotmatic tool changer! Any ideas? Real newbie here!!
Re: New HD4 question
The HD4 does not have a tool changer, so you will have to run a different toolpath for each and every tool you are using in a job.
This will allow you to change the tools between toolpaths.

Re: New HD4 question
As gordread stated, you break the tool paths down into separate files. It will stop at teh end and go to 0,0 . Then you can jog around and change the tool out.

Re: New HD4 question
If you have a profile tool path and a pocket tool path, you can run them as a single tool path providing you are using the same bit.
It's done all the time without any problems.
So if you are only using two different bits with three or more different tool paths, you would only change the tool out once.
The only exception I can think of is if you are using a up cut for one tool path and a down cut for another tool path.
Hope that makes sense.
